Character Bio - Galadriel
Hello!
You may have not met me yet, but I might have a sense of who you are or when we might be better introduced. Growing up in Valinor, I have always sensed a deep connection to other creatures, including my fellow Noldor and Teleri, as well as the abundant gifts of nature. I have often enjoyed the expanses of my home to train, to run and compete alongside others living alongside the Valar. As a result, I hold a deep admiration for the talents of Yavanna and for the radiance of Valinor, learning alongside her the ways of the kevlar and olvar of this world. As a credit to the Valar, I have been able to learn many and develop many of the skills of my kind. For example, through Aulë, my natural inclination to craftsmanship has been refined by his immense skill and passion. Like him, I have an inherent fondness of the Dwarves and of their creation, and I admire their similar love of their craft. Living in Valinor, the Two Trees have been the center to which all creation is intrinsically linked, and I have been no exception. My hair has often been described as being a reflection of the same Trees, and I have been able to use its lifegiving power in my own song to control elements and influence nature of my own accord. I have a strong belief that its mystical qualities have been the other key contributor to my skill and prowess I obtained. However, I knew that I couldn’t live forever in Valinor. The tutelage and control of the Valar, while it can be a gift, I saw also as a restraint on my independence and potential. For I believe in this way I could be similar to Morgoth, as I dream the same ambition and drive as he does, the same desire to rule over a realm of my own. However, I cannot accept the atrocities that have taken root in his heart in order to achieve such objectives. For however much I strive to make my own way in Arta, I would much rather be a leader than be corrupted by a sense of power, to be someone of counsel and aid if required. For I understand that my own gifts are not only a reflection of my own abilities, but of the contributions of those around me, and ultimately, of Ilúvatar, through which all things have been created.

Greetings Galadriel,
ReplyDeleteYour tales of learning craft from Aulë speaks more to me than you may think. We dwarfs honor his skill above all and hearing an Elf speak with such respect for stone making brings me such happiness. Your yearning of freedom yet refusal to become corrupted, is a strength I hope many will also uphold as the Shadow creeps back into Middle-earth.
